Peppa’s FARRM Story
Peppa was purchased as a piglet and lived in a condo for years before moving to a duplex in the city. When she turned 8 she was transferred to FARRM's care. When she arrived her hooves were overgrown and in terrible condition. Two of her dew claws were imprinted in the backs of her legs from being so long - she could barely walk.
In addition, her obesity caused her to urinate all over herself and have a constant slight prolapse. She is blind in one eye from an injury caused by a child when she was younger. When she arrived at FARRM, she was "fat blind”, a condition where excessive fat deposits around the eyes obscure the pigs vision, causing them to become blind, or at least having severely impaired vision. She arrived 150 pounds overweight.
She is on a strict diet of fresh veggies and a mini pig ration. She is encouraged to exercise daily and we hope we can get enough weight off her so that she can walk easier. Her hooves have already been corrected
