About FARRM
Who we are
Farm Animal Rescue and Rehoming Movement (FARRM) is a compassionate sanctuary near Wetaskiwin, Alberta, offering a safe haven for farm animals in need.
With a heart rooted in the principles of kindness and respect, FARRM not only gives these animals a second chance but also invites others to join in creating a more ethical, compassionate world.
Since 2013, FARRM has been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing lifelong care for animals that have been abused or abandoned - challenging the traditional view of farm animals as mere commodities.
How it began
Established in 2013, FARRM began as an initiative to help find homes for a growing number of abandoned potbelly pigs.
In less than a year, over 100 potbelly pigs were rescued and re-homed. With the success of this initiative, the movement continued to grow and FARRM was officially created.
Our Mission
At FARRM, we provide lifelong sanctuary to surrendered farm animals who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Through compassionate care and community education, we aim to raise awareness about animal welfare while fostering meaningful relationships between people and the animals in our care.
Our Vision
FARRM’s goal is to help foster connections between people and the animals that reside with us in order to promote empathy and compassion for all living beings. FARRM endeavours to create a space where vulnerable animals and people alike can find similarities and support in one another through connection, education, and acceptance.

What we do now
FARRM now supports other farm animals beyond pot belly pigs, including horses, cows, donkeys, sheep, goats, and cats.
Before coming to FARRM, these residents were abused, abandoned, or were in need of a safe home. At FARRM, they are guaranteed shelter, nutritious food, vet care, and abundant love. Each resident is supported and cared for from the day they arrive until the last day they are are with us.
With compassion, time, and commitment, we watch each of these beautiful animals grow into their full potential.
