About: Gordo was transferred to FARRM from a partner rescue, as he had been surrendered by his owner who had purchased him as a pet teacup pig. When Gordo arrived, he was having seizures and a variety of other serious health issues. After endless vet visits, we discovered he has a condition called Endocarditis. Endocarditis is a critical health condition where the heart valves are inflamed, meaning Gordo's heart struggles to pump his blood efficiently. This condition also causes him to be very small and stunt his growth. Vets also suspect that he may have a neurological condition that cause his seizures and other health concerns.

After establishing Gordo's needs, we built his own space with as little risk of dusty conditions as possible to minimize health flare ups and is on a special diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables. Gordo does continue to have health flare ups every 6 months or so, but is monitored daily and treated accordingly. Gordo's shelter is very popular with our feral cats and he happily spends most of his days with a specific feral named Jade.
