About:  Animal control was contacted by a concerned citizen to intervene in a serious case of neglect involving a horse. Keeley had been living alone on a property without any hoof or medical care for over 7 years. Her hooves had never been touched before and had cracked and abcessed, leaving her unable to walk. She had cancerous tumors covering her eyes and ulcers in her stomach. Animal control passed along our information and gave the owners the option to reach out for help immediately or euthanize Keeley. Thankfully, the owners reached out and Keeley was taken into our care for a long journey of extensive medical treatment and care. Keeley recovered wonderfully and now remains a happy and healthy resident!

Due to her traumatizing past and spending the first 7 years of her life without ever being touched, Keeley is not a huge fan of people. Keeley loves her two best buddies Buck and Jaxon but also enjoys her own company. She is elegant, introverted, and graceful. She is brave, resilient, and does not let her past define her. She does not like to be startled. Her days are spent with her two best buddies Jaxon and Buck eating apples, finding treasures in our waste pile, and basking in the sunshine while enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside.
