About:  One spring afternoon, while working outside, our operator noticed a cardboard box sitting in the middle of the driveway near the road. Inside the box was a feral cat trap. Inside that trap was Moose.

We have no way of knowing how long Moose had been confined there, but we immediately brought him inside for assessment and provided him with a safe, quiet space until he could be seen by our vet. Sadly, Moose is not the first animal to be abandoned on our property, and he likely won't be the last. Time and time again, frightened, displaced animals find their way here, seeking safety and refuge after being left behind.

Moose was taken to the vet for a full examination, as well as neutering and vaccinations. Since then, he has been given all the time he needs to decompress and adjust to his new surroundings. Moose now lives with our feral cat crew in one of our large, enclosed spaces, where we can monitor his well-being while allowing him the freedom to be himself.

To say Moose is not a fan of humans would be an understatement. Trust does not come easily to him, and that's okay. We are simply grateful that his journey led him to us. Here, Moose can live life on his own terms, with safety, comfort, and care always available to him.
Whether Moose eventually decides to open his heart to us or prefers to keep his distance, he will always have a place here. We will continue to love and respect him from afar, knowing that he is finally home.
