About:  Augustus, Auggie for short, was found running around the city of Wetaskiwin at just a few months old. In addition to numerous concerned citizens that contacted FARRM, the County of Wetaskiwin Bylaw also requested our assistance to help our little friend.

 

While running at large around the city for over a month, citizens reported that people were threatening to poison and cause harm to Auggie. Others came forward with videos of a group of kids chasing and attempting to torment and hurt the pig with hockey sticks. Although Auggie had experienced the worst from humans, he also experienced the very best that the small town had to offer. A very patient man, alongside numerous concerned citizens, worked to gain his trust, providing him a small safe haven and a place for snacks until he could be caught. They mobilized as a team, borrowed and set a humane trap and transported him to FARRM. If it was not for this group of citizens Auggie may have had a much different fate.

Auggie is terrified of humans and it is going to take several months to gain his trust. He is safe, loved, and important. Auggie will be treated with kindness, compassion, and like the sentient being he is and deserves to be.
